GSSP constitutes a central element of the financing structure of the Global Shield against Climate Risks. It provides technical assistance and financial support to partner countries with the objective to increase the resilience of vulnerable people in emerging markets against climate risks and consequently help to avert, minimise and address losses and damages of climate change.  Some of our major activities of the past year include:

1. GSSP has contributed to the In-Country Process in more than 11 countries through its Country Readiness Component.

2. The GSSP Country Window is now operational, with the successful structuring of a comprehensive support package for Ghana.

3. GSSP has signed grant agreements with two risk pools – ARC Ltd. and PCRIC – covering research, education and the development of innovative insurance products.
