The Climate Risk Finance Forum 2026, organised by the Global Shield Solutions Platform and hosted by Frankfurt School of Finance & Management on 12–13 May 2026, brought together leading policymakers, practitioners, financial institutions, insurers, development partners, regional risk pools, humanitarian actors, researchers and technical experts to advance action on Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance (CDRFI).
This year’s Forum focused on two interlinked priorities: strengthening money-out processes and advancing impact evaluation in CDRFI. Across one and a half days of discussions, participants explored how climate and disaster risk financing mechanisms can deliver faster, more efficient, and more accountable support to vulnerable communities facing increasing climate shocks.
The Forum provided a platform for participants to exchange lessons learned, identify operational challenges, and discuss practical solutions for improving the speed, transparency, and effectiveness of financial disbursement systems. Sessions also highlighted the growing importance of robust impact evaluation frameworks to better understand how CDRFI instruments contribute to resilience, recovery, and long-term adaptation outcomes.
As we reflect on the discussions and outcomes of the Forum, we are encouraged by the strong sense of shared commitment and momentum that emerged over the two days. The exchanges, partnerships, and insights generated throughout the event have strengthened the foundation for continued collaboration and innovation. Together, we remain committed to advancing more resilient and responsive systems that better protect and support vulnerable communities facing climate and disaster risks.
